March 15. Invited speaker at EACEF5
Benny has been invited to give a talk at the 5th Euro Asia Civil Engineering Forum Conference (EACEF5) in September 2015 (http://eacef5.petra.ac.id/home/keynote-speakers/).  The conference will take place at Petra Christian University in Surabaya, Indonesia.  He will talk about "Smart Cement Composites for Durable and Intelligent Infrastructure".      

January 15. UK-Thailand Research Link
Benny received a travel grant from the British Council to attend the UK-Thailand Research Link workshop at Asian Institute of Technology in January 2015.

April 14. Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 2014
Benny will join Professor Peter Woodward's team and take part in the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 2014. The exhibit will take place in London from 30 June to 6 July 2014. The title is 'The Science of Speed'. Watch the details here

March 14. UK-Indonesia Research Link
Benny received a travel grant from the British Council to attend the UK-Indonesia Research Link Workshop titled 'Toward sustainable Building and Infrastructure in Indonesia'. The workshop will take place at Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia, from 24-27 March 2014.

June 13. Japan Concrete Institute Award
Dr Benny and his former colleagues, Motohiro Ohno (University of Michigan), Dr Nobuhiro Chijiwa (Tokyo Institute of Technology), and Prof Koichi Maekawa (University of Tokyo) won the Japan Concrete Institute 2013 AwardThe award was made in recognition of their research into the multi-decade, excessive deflections of long span prestressed concrete bridges. The group of researchers received the prize at the award ceremony in Tokyo on 21 June 2013. This was the 39th edition of the JCI’s annual award which has been held since 1975.
